Professor Susan Huang's Chinese Art and Visual Culture class enjoyed a tour by Bradley Bailey, the Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Curator of Asian Art, who introduced the students to the Asian art collection at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

PhD candidate Rachel Harmeyer will be giving the presentation “L’Urne Mystérieuse: Hidden French Royal Silhouettes in 1790s Chinese Export Porcelain” at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston on Saturday, September 22, at 10:05 a.m. The presentation is part of the Rienzi Symposium, Hidden in Plain Sight: Meanings and Messages in Ceramics, 1650–1950.
On May 9, 2018, The Office of Graduate Studies at Rice University announced the Rice Special Endowed Fellowships for 2018-2019. Among the awarded was Nikki Moore, a PhD candidate in the Department of Art History, who received a 2018-2019 Lodieska Stockbridge Vaughn Fellowship award.
Fabiola López Durán, Assistant Professor of Art History, was one of two recipients of the 2017-2018 GSA Faculty Teaching and Mentoring Award, which recognizes outstanding service to graduate student life and education at Rice.
