Professor Susan Huang's Chinese Art and Visual Culture class enjoyed a tour by Bradley Bailey, the Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Curator of Asian Art, who introduced the students to the Asian art collection at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

On May 9, 2018, The Office of Graduate Studies at Rice University announced the Rice Special Endowed Fellowships for 2018-2019. Among the awarded was Nikki Moore, a PhD candidate in the Department of Art History, who received a 2018-2019 Lodieska Stockbridge Vaughn Fellowship award.
Fabiola LĂłpez DurĂˇn, Assistant Professor of Art History, was one of two recipients of the 2017-2018 GSA Faculty Teaching and Mentoring Award, which recognizes outstanding service to graduate student life and education at Rice.
