Congratulations to Henry McMahon, Art History Ph.D. candidate, for being awarded the Amici di Via Gabina Traveling Fellowship from the Center for Civic Leadership at Rice.
The Amici di Via Gabina Traveling Fellowship will provide generous funding for Henry to head to Paris and perform archival research.
Henry studies Twentieth Century European and American art, with a focus on French painting in the interwar and postwar periods. His research is primarily on painters associated with Cobra, "l'art informel" and the Situationist International.
The Amici di Via Gabina grant offers a summer traveling stipend for a student to provide a transformational opportunity in the study of architecture, art, history, archeology, language, music and culture. The fellowship is competitive based on submitted proposals for travel and study.
