For the 10th anniversary of the Department of Art History's spring break trips, Professors Gordon Hughes and Fabiola López-Durán led a group of ten Rice undergraduate students to the City of Lights to experience and see some of the most renowned museum and sites the city has to offer. The excursion, funded in support by generous donors, brought the group to iconic art and architectural sites around Paris including the Château de Versailles, Musêe du Quai Branly, Musée Picasso, and even a boat tour on the Seine. Travel programs like these are integral in the department for allowing students to engage and interact with works of art at a more personal level and for students to gain a deeper understanding of the world of art creation and development.
Special thanks to the Rice Global Paris Center for their help coordinating the trip and for providing lodging to our group. To view more Paris pictures and videos from the trip, follow us on Instagram or Facebook.
