Student Spotlight: Hannah Foster '25
2023-2024 Rice University Intern, The Menil Collection
Bravo to rising junior, Hannah Foster, who has been awarded an internship at The Menil Collection next year. Hannah will work under the guidance of the Menil's internationally respected curatorial departments and assist in the development of exhibitions and conduct art historical research on the permanent collection.
Hannah fills us in on her motivation behind interning at The Menil:
“I am eager to expand upon and apply the concepts I have learned in my coursework in a professional environment as a curatorial intern at the Menil Collection this upcoming year. Working with the incredible curatorial team will enhance my knowledge of art history by extending the bounds of learning from the classroom to a museum setting, where I can delve more deeply into the collection by engaging with the art in person and utilizing the Menil’s unique resources, including their archives and expert staff. This opportunity will prepare me to achieve my future career goals, which are shaped by my passion for sharing art with others and prioritizing accessibility and care in arts institutions. At the Menil, I hope to help facilitate an environment where visitors can cultivate a close and meaningful relationship with all kinds of works of art."
