As the recipient of the Jameson Fellowship for American Painting and Decorative Arts, undergraduate student Elizabeth Fessler will spend the next academic year as a researcher at the Bayou Bend Collection of the Museum of Fine Arts and receive a $13,000 stipend.
Hear more from Elizabeth as she explains her motivation behind pursuing research at the Bayou Bend Collection:
"Double majoring in History and Art History with a minor in Museums and Cultural Heritage Studies, I am excited to take on this fellowship at Bayou Bend. In particular, I am looking forward to gaining curatorial experience that combines my interests in both the arts and history. As a house museum, Bayou Bend uniquely immerses guests in the historical context of artworks. I hope to use my time at Bayou Bend to become a stronger researcher and art historian overall. I am honored to work in such a wonderful institution while also gaining invaluable experience towards my future educational and career goals."
