Art History Ph.D. candidate Adrienne Rooney's paper "The Battle of Algiers and Colonial Analogy in the Panther 21" was published in the December 2019 issue of Journal of African American Studies. In the paper, Rooney studies the screening of the pseudo-documentary film The Battle of Algiers (Gillo Pontecorvo, 1966) as evidence in a 1969-1971 New York Supreme Court case concerning over a dozen members of the Black Panther Party.
