Mary Ellen Hale Lovett Travel Fellowship

The Mary Ellen Hale Lovett Travel Fellowship, through the generous support of Mr. H. Malcolm Lovett, provides students with the unique opportunity to enhance their educational experience at Rice by traveling to significant sites to conduct field research in art history, architectural history, and film and media studies.

A final research report will be due to arthist@rice.edu one month after travel; if a report is not submitted, students are ineligible from applying for future Lovett Travel Fellowships.

To apply: submit a one-page research proposal and a detailed budget, a CV, and an unofficial transcript via the link below. The research proposal should describe 1) the topic of the research; 2) the questions/problems that the student wants to examine; 3) what specific sites the student needs to visit and why, and 4) a proposed timeline for the research travel. This is a competitive fellowship. Only well-developed proposals will be eligible for funding.
