Art History PhD candidate Philip Kelleher's paper "Paul Chan's RE: The Operation: Empathetic Portrait or Revenge Fantasy?" was published in the Summer 2019 issue of Art Journal. In the paper, Kelleher explores the complex convergence of art, information, and affect within Paul Chan's video RE: The Operation (2002), which is a part of the artist's Tin Drum Trilogy and a response to the US invasion of Afghanistan.
