Melisa Palermo graduated from the Rice University Department of Art History in 2018, after defending her dissertation, "Cor ad Cor Loquitur: Burning Hearts and the Iconography of Divine Charity in the Catholic World, 1570-1770,” under the supervision of Professor Joseph Manca. Melisa accepted a Visiting Professor position at the University of St. Thomas (Houston, TX) for the 2018-19 school year and plans to begin the process of getting her work published.
