Prof. Shirine Hamadeh is honored as a Visiting Scholar at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales and with a senior fellowship at Koç University's Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations

Prof. Shirine Hamadeh will be a Visiting Scholar at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS), in Paris, for one month.  She will deliver 4 lectures on past and current work, including on public spaces in 18th century Istanbul, urban life in late Ottoman cities, early modern global culture, migration and urban politics in Istanbul. 

Hamadeh will also be a 2016-17 senior fellow at Koç University’s Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (RCAC), in Istanbul, where she will write her book Istanbul City of Bachelors: An Urban History from Below.  RCAC aims to "develop and facilitate research projects that are dedicated to the history, art, architecture and archaeology of civilizations in Turkey through exhibitions, symposiums, fellowships and publications."
