The exhibition RIO DE JANEIRO 2017 captures–through photographs, journal entries, and historical materials–the experiences of ten students who participated in HART in the World: Rio from May 14th to June 4th, 2017 through the Department of Art History.

In addition to Rio de Janeiro, the group traveled to supermodern Brasilia, Brazil’s capital; the 19th-century planned city of Belo Horizonte; and cosmopolitan São Paulo, the most populous city in the Americas. Led by Assistant Professor Fabiola López-Durán and current art history Ph.D. candidate Oliva Wolf, they were joined by Brazilian artist Ana Maria Tavares, who is a professor at the Universidade de São Paulo.

The exhibition, free and open to the public, was installed on November 3rd, 2017, and is ongoing.
