Caroline "Olivia" Wolf, Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Art History, has been awarded a 2017-2018 Lodieska Stockbridge Vaughn Fellowship for completion of her dissertation: Migrating Constructions: Nationalist Debates and Mahjar Monuments in Modern Argentina, 1910-1955. Her dissertation focuses on the art and architecture of Arab-speaking diaspora (mahjar) communities in modern Argentina as a response to nationalist discourses.

Administered by the Rice University Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, the highly-competitive award provides a fellowship for a graduate student whose record at Rice shows evidence of outstanding achievement and promise. Five awards are given each year, one in Social Sciences, one in Humanities, and three in any discipline.
