Betsy Bryan - Collections Analysis Collaborative Research Visit - Egyptian Art at the Menil Collection

Betsy M. Bryan, Alexander Badawy Chair in Egyptian Art and Archaeology Professor at Johns Hopkins, will visit Rice and the Menil to investigate the Egyptian collection and meet with students.  

Over the course of the year, eight prominent scholars will come to Houston to work with the Collections Analysis Collaborative on the arts of the ancient Mediterranean at the Menil Collection.  The Department of Art History has sponsored these visits in association with the Humanities Research Institute and the Menil Collection.  Each visitor will spend three days at the two institutions, performing research for a conference to be held in October, 2016 and to interact with students in an advanced seminar on museum studeis nad provenance research.
