The Department of Art History is accepting proposals for research travel for summer 2017.
The Mary Ellen Hale Lovett Travel Fellowship, through the generous support of Mr. H. Malcolm Lovett, provides students with the unique opportunity to enhance their educational experience at Rice by traveling to significant sites to conduct field research in art history, architectural history, and film and media studies.
Proposals should include research goals and plans, travel plans, and an itemized budget (up to $3,000).
The topic of research is open, but research goals should focus on an area of art history, architectural history, film, or media studies.
Travel may be either domestic or international. (Students will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements as well as obtaining appropriate visas and travel documentation.)
Travel must be taken in the summer of 2017 and must be completed no later than August 12, 2017.
A report outlining the project, conclusion, outcomes, and experiences should be submitted to the department administrator, Nicole Wade, of Department of Art History no later than September 22, 2017.
